I have 3 lines of service wiyh T-Mobile, 2 of which were previously Sidekick LX's. Both phones malfunctioned with the same errors. I returned one and upgraded to a Wing. The other was a "warranty exchange", but when the phone was received by their mysterious factory plant it oddly had liquid damage that no one could explain. I spent two days on the phone asking to speak with this "receiving department" so they could verify to me what liquid damage could possibly be done to the phone. Needless to say I NEVER spoke to that department, but was able to raise to valid points with a supervisor to have the charge removed.
The rep advised me that occasionally if the weather is too extreme, such as humidity then liquid damage could take place under the surface. I explained I live in Southern California and we DO NOT experience those types of conditions. I also questioned how do I know that the phone was not damaged by some careless UPS worker while in transit. After about 30 minutes of complaining and threats of taking service (all 3 lines) elsewhere the fee was waived as a "courtesy". I still followed up with a complaint to the FCC, just so that it would appear on records.
