Hewlett-Packard (HP)
Warranty Refusal

We got a G6 Laptop this past summer, and the thing was defective. The fan didn't work, so constant overheating issues, then the screen went weird.in USE, the thing developed this odd "border". So we sent it in. First they claimed there was "liquid" damage to the battery, claiming it was shorted, and it works fine, NO damage at all. They also claimed liquid damage to entire system, basically. A system, mind you, that has NO such damage, never did, and that works great save for the fan and screen issues. After WEEKS, in which they did NOTHING, they returned it unrepaired. So we sent it back, after complaining. Again, WEEKS pass, before we get a phone call, telling us yet again the laptop cannot be repaired, because there is "too much damage" to make it economical. This time, the idiot talking to me (upper level, not the flunkies that usually handle these things) told me the hard drive showed water damage. Only thing is, they didn't GET the hard drive - we kept that here. Basically, she LIED. Now they refuse to fix the screen and fan issues, and again lie about some nonexistent liquid damage. No damage, working system, and they are too cheap to fix a defective screen and fan! They would rather claim "damage" that isn't there, and would make the whole system inoperable (which it isn't!). I am furious! Have used HP for years. Using a desktop now that I have had for years, have two other laptops of theirs. NEVER AGAIN, if this is the sort of "service" they now offer. I have sent in systems for repair before, with no issues. Now they want to invent problems, and refuse to fix a defective product. This is not the sort of service I expected from that company. Very disappointed, and not planning to use their products in the future. Recommend to all you find some other brand. HP has apparently gone to the dogs.
