Best Buy keeps advertising features on Insignia MP3 players that don't work

In September of I purchased an Insignia 4GB Mp3 player. One of the features that it was advertised to have was TV-OUT. After trying 4 different players. Talking to about 6 different tech support people on the phone. After seeing 4 different Geek Squad people... So they could "Show me how to turn on this feature". After buying a $25 cable because Best Buy tech support told me to.

After 5 months of getting the run around by Best Buy, they STILL sell this player as having TV-OUT. Here's the current manual for the player.

Even the sign for the player in the store says it has TV-OUT. Best Buy has known for at least 5 months that it doesn't work. Are they going to stop lying about the features on the player? I guess not. This is an Insignia player that is made exclusivly for Best Buy... Essentially a Best Buy brand. Nobody at Best Buy bothered to check to see if all the features worked.

Every time I called tech support, they had me do the same things, format it, reset it to factory defaults, etc. Then they blamed the cable I was using. Even though I had tried 3 cables, i bought the EXACT one they said to buy for $25. It still didn't work. And guess what? The cable I bought was just an ordinary video cable you get with any camcorder. They had me visit the Geek Squad and they couldn't get it to work either. They exchanged it... That didn't work. Their display model didn't work. Then they started blaming the TV I was hooking it to. And I guess the TV the Geek Squad was using.

Did they really thing that this player was smart enough to say "Hey, you don't have the right TV plugged into me so I'm not going to allow you to activate that feature"? Because THAT was the issue. It wasn't that I wasn't getting a picture on my TV. I couldn't even turn the feature on.

Finally I called tech support while I was standing in a Best Buy. They did the whole "Format it, reset it, it's your cable, etc" When they got to the "it's your TV part" I said "I'm at Best Buy right now. There's 100 TV's here I could try. Which one do you want me to plug this into.?" There was dead silence on the phone. She put me on hold. When she came back she admitted that the feature didn't work and that I should talk to the store manager. When I asked what the store manager would do, she couldn't tell me.

I saw the store manager (Melissa), she said I could get my cash back. I had purchased it with a gift card 4 months earlier. Best Buy had discontinued the only other MP3 player that does everything this one does. I told her I'd have to see if I could buy it somewhere else. I found the one Best Buy used to sell at Walmart. I went back to get my cash back. They said I could only get a gift card!!!

I've written to the corporate office. I got a response back saying that I could speak to Melissa at the store!!! Ummm, I already spoke to her. She's not giving me my money back. I wouldn't have written to corporate if she had!!!
