Becky! - Samsung 1080p upconvert dvd playe

I had the WORST experience at the Minot, ND location today.in fact, it was the worst customer service I have EVER received as a consumer. Here's the story, I bought a a Samsung DVD player from your story Oct. 08 and only 3 months later the thing totally stopped working. It would no longer read any discs. So, I decided to take the dvd player back to best buy to the GEEK SQUAD. They told me the repairs would be free, which only seemed fair because I spent just over $100 on the thing. After 2 weeks of waiting I get a call from wherever they send their machinery saying the repairs would be more than had been expected. I didn't really understand, because what is free when it's not free? To cut it short, I was charged $59 dollars for the labor and nothing for the parts. That really bothered me because I could have bought a blu-ray player for that price. When we arrived at the store to pickup or newly fixed DVD player, it was lost. We waited for over an hour for them to find it... It was in the back room by the way. Then, after leaving the store with the player, we noticed pieces missing. Of course we went directly back inside to complain and a geek squad associate said he'd make it right. He walked over to the DVD players and picked out the identical model and gave it to us... New in package... No receipt... Nothing. After using it, no more than once a week, for 2 months, it started have the EXACT same problems as the other one. After a couple months of digging around for the original receipt and repair sheet from GEEK SQUAD we tried to take it back once again. After waiting for over 45 minutes for a straight answer, the GEEK SQUAD associate tried to sucker us out of $35 more. That would be the base price of fixing it. If we were retarded, we would have said yes and been called back in 2 weeks to say it was going to cost $59... As it had originally. Then she calls over another GEEK SQUAD associate. He, understanding this practice to be COMPLETELY unreasonable, tries to do exactly what the first associate had and give us a brand new one. We told him we didn't want the same piece of garbage because we could easily see it was a crappy DVD player by design. He tried his absolute hardest to get us one which would be an even trade for our original. Of course this was unable to happen because the computer wouldn't allow it. We now understood why the original associate had given us the new one without a receipt and simply walked us to the door to excuse the security system. After 10 minutes of trying to find a way to trick the computer into letting us checkout, a floor manager BECKY decides to come make our lives HELL! She takes the GEEK SQUAD associate to the back and barks at him for 10 more minutes then walks out of the office laughing and smiling as we stand there and watch our dreams of having a working DVD player disappear. Then, this is where my BIGGEST complaint is, comes over to tell us there is nothing she can do to help us and we should have paid the extra money for the extra coverage. I, not being an idiot, understand the reason behind extra coverage. Yes, it's very useful for older products, but 2 items which are seldom used and completely quit working within only a couple months SHOULD NOT EVER REQUIRE SUCH COVERAGE! That is so wrong on so many levels. Why not just include that in the price of the DVD player if you are certain it will fail? Right?! This Becky was such a jerk and really didn't care that we were going to be spending nearly $200 dollars (original expense, repairs, repairs again) for a DVD player. She smiled and sneered at us like we were cheap skates for not just giving GEEK SQUAD more money to repair an item that would surely fail again in a couple months. So, yes, today I said screw the old one and bought a better one for $50 dollars! I am so irate, I cannot even explain the frustration of being treated so poorly by Becky. Though technically the young man from GEEK SQUAD was trying to fix the problem by skirting the system and rules, but he was also ensuring he keep us as loyal customers, Becky could not have cared less! The most pathetic manager I have ever come in contact with and by far the most unprofessional associate I have ever encountered in one of your stores. She was completely unwilling to solve the issue or help in anyway. I understand a person's livelihood is of utmost importance, but Becky clearly did not. She should be fired for such rudeness! She treated her associates like absolute scum and us even worse.
