Sell you help for a defective product!

I purchased a creative labs zen v plus 4g Mp3 player in December. This thing has been nothing but problems. It would freeze at the worst time. For days I wouldn't be able to use my player. The only way to contact this company is by email. It took a week to get help with the player at that time. The player would continue to freeze and over and over I was told to reset it, that was my only solution what a pain! Now, about a year and a half into owning this piece of junk the back light stopped working all of a sudden. It plays music and I can control the volume but I can't see the screen so I can't use any features in the player. I contact the company again, by email of course (the only way these cowards will be contacted about their inferior products), and I am told that if I didnt purchase any additional coverage for my player I could go to their website and get updates (useless, an update is not why the backlight stopped working), or I can BUY a session with a tech, or I can buy a refurbished or a brand new player on their website! What kind of help is that? They are selling me help with a player I bought from them? I don't know about you but, I believe that a $300 mp3 player should last more than a year and 8 months before someone suggets buying a new one. They offer no repair of the product! I never dropped or got my player wet. They should be held accountable for selling disposable, expensive players offering no customer support for the item then trying to sell you a new one. I feel sick!
