On Sept 30 (less than 6 months ago) I bought an Insignia (made by Best Buy, according to the salesperson) DVD player. It was the model NS-DVD1. It came with a 90 day warranty.
Last night the belt on the loading tray broke (I opened it to verify the problem since it is out of warranty). I called to get a replacement (fully expecting to be able to buy it), and was told that a replacement belt was not available.
I understand that belts do wear out (although not usually in under 6 months, unless they're really poor quality) but I do not understand them not carrying such common replacement parts or at least telling me where I can get them.
Perhaps the idea is that they want me to buy another DVD player after a little over 5 months? I guess at this point I'll have to, but it won't be from Best Buy. I'll have to find a more honest, professional source for my future electronics needs.
