I sent my AlcoMate Breathalyzer in for recalibration having first purchased a "repair certificate" in or about October. To get the "repair certificate" I had to go to their website, give them my credit card number and wait for the "repair certificate" to be sent to me by mail. They sent the repair certificate by mail, but it took nearly 3 weeks to arrive by snail mail. As directed, on November 14 I shipped the item to them... And waited and waited. Finally, I called them and got an answering machine and no return phone call. I emailed them and they responded that my "repair certificate" had already been used and was invalid. I responded that they must have sent it to me that way, that the repair certificate was never used by me. They responded that the unit misteriously need a new sensor (due to over-use/alcohol saturation) for an additional $35 charge and restated the invalid repair certificate issue.in late November, I responded that the unit had never been used, never cleaned, never exposed to alcohol, that it was a backup unit and just need an annual recalibration-tune up. (I have another unit I sent to them this Summer that had been used and need the part and calibration) I resent the email December 4th and then again December 13. To my knowledge, they have never investigated WHO used my repair certificate/or if they issued duplicate numbers or What Ever! They have not recalibrated the unit. They have not provided any reason why the virgin unit need a new part. I have never received my unit back.
