Purchased a Martin Yale 1217A through iBuyOfficeSupply.com, and it was defective upon its second use. The folding machine drew in a dozen pages at once through normal operation and jammed the machine. It did not work properly, so we tried to get a replacement. We were given only the option to get warranty repair. We could not get an RMA for weeks even with the help of iBuyOfficeSupply.com.
When we finally got the RMA started, Martin Yale did not repair they unit. They held it for six months instead. When we tried to find out why our unit had not been shipped back, Debbie Shepherd claimed we had abused the unit for an extended period and that the machine was "dirty", a total fabrication. They apparently misunderstood that the unit was purchased new and was immediately boxed up for RMA.
A BBB complaint pushed Martin Yale to repair the unit per the warranty. However it was not repaired properly, and it was actually not fully put together. Our requests to get a refund were ignored.
IBuyOfficeSupply.com also ignored our requests; it turns out Mary Weigel, our representative, had not worked there for months. The manager, Ron Weber, was unethical and responded negatively to us, claiming he had no responsibility beyond 30 days to deal with the issue. However Mary had promised to make sure we got either repair or a refund. Neither happened.
Our only option is to try to repair the unit ourselves. This was a Ripoff in the amount of $962.87 by Martin Yale and iBuyOfficeSupply.com, plus shipping fees for repair as a Ripoff by Martin Yale.
