Just received my November telephone bill with a long distance charge of $38.94 for 31 minutes. I called USBI and was told that the call was "legit" and has to be paid. The only phone number we had for this company is a 1-800 number left by the previous owner of this house. First of all we do not have a long distance service provider on our land line and make long distance calls by cell phone. On the bill it was stated: "The charges appearing on this portion of your bill are from a new service provider".???
I called the company the call was made to from my cell phone and right away was told that the charge was from a third party billing and that it is a scam. She even mentioned USBI by name. I called Q-West and they are returning that portion of the bill to USBI.
