I opened an this account with Orchard Bank last October. I charged approximately $269. I made the payments as billed, and on the third statement, the payment jumped from $10 monthly to $60. I suddenly was overlimit, and was being charged $29 for overlimit and $29 for late payment, when my payment was never late and my account could not be overlimit since being a bookkeeper I regularly checked my available credit before each purchase.
I sent what payment I could and tried to talk to them by phone, being told it must have been an error and someone would call me back with the corrected balance. I have received not calls back regarding their error, and in the meantime they have continued to pad my account with late fees and overlimit fees each month. I continued to write them, email them, talk by phone to try to correct this error. I receive no return calls and form letters, stating they are in the right. My account balance has increased to their benefit to a whopping $736. I receive 10 to 20 calls per day harrassing me for the $736.
I have missed one payment—May because I wrote them I will pay no more until this balance is corrected. Their representative told me tonite, that this balance is so high because I am not making payments. I am sick of it. I have five other credit cards, not overlimit, never late. This account has been a real nightmare. I told them to take me to court because I will countersue for fraud and harrassment. This company needs to be fined and prosecuted in the worse way. I intend to do my best to see them pay for all the harrassment they have brought to me!!!
