I closed my Discover card 4 years ago with a balance of 2,400. Discover then raised my interst rate, and changed my due date, I was late with payments and they charged me $29 late fee and $29 overlimit fee.
When I stop paying they called and offer a lower intrest rate, which I accepted, again I started paying, later they raised my intrest rate again, where by making my payment short, again late fee and overlimit fee was charged. I now owe them 5400.
I have not used the Discover Card since the account was closed. All the overlimit and late fees are applied as cash purchases, whereby the intrest rate is higher. The overlimit fee is charged each month even though the monthly payment is made.
I have asked them to remove the late fee and overlimit fees but they refuse. The reason my account is in this state is because of the fees, not because I purchased any thing.
