Dunmore PA. I would not recommend Monro Muffler to my worst enemy. They replaced the fuel injector (cylinder 6) in my son's 2004 Mazda 6. Several hours after picking the car up it literally exploded while parked in a friends driveway. Needless to say the car is a total loss with nothing but the frame left to the front of the car. An independant forensic investigation determined the cause of the fire to be from a wire harness pinch on cylinder 6. The pinch caused the wires to arc and the injector to explode. Monro admitted fault and reimbursed my $500.00 deductable. We were told by their agent (Mark Babinger) that their travelers insurance would cover the contents of the car and the disputed charge on my credit card. Not only are they are now refusing to pay for the contents of the vehicle but they have disputed my credit card dispute claiming the work had been done on the vehicle but they were not at fault. The charge has now been put back on my credit card for the second time.
I have nightmares thinking of what would have happened to my 22 year old son if he had been driving his car when the fuel injector expolded.
Monro needs to own up to their employee's negligence and reimburse the poor kid who not only lost the car he worked so hard to pay for, but all of his CD's, his Ipod and his cell phone plus had to pay to rent a car for 6 weeks while fault could be determined.
Monro has been given numerous opportunities to make this right but apparently they choose not to. Phone calls are never returned and emails go unanswered.
