The toilet was plugged. The plumber said the plug was in the toilet. A new toilet would cost at least $670.00. However, when the new toilet was installed it was still plugged which meant the plug was not in the toilet but in the piping. It was far down in the lines which had to be cut. I am now stuck with a $700.00 toilet and a great loss in human nature. Money should have been spent on prescriptions and other necessities. I feel this was deliberate. I am senior citizen and live alone. I feel I was taken advantage of because I have no understanding of plumbing or pricing. I and my family are irate about this, and feel that something could be said to this company.
A family friend did some research and found the same toilets at Sears.com. The most expensive Gerber toilet sold there was $245.62. I do not believe the plumber fully explained my options. I also believe he could and should have done a thurough dignostic before trying to sell a new toilet.
