I have had two claims on my warranty this past year. The first claim was on a 1 year old pool pump and another one on a water heater. The pool pump motor burned out due to a short and the water heater went out due to a valve and actuator needing replacement due to age.
They refuse to repair or replace the pump because they claimed the pool man said the unit was struck by lightning, however, the pool man claims he said no such thing. The repairman said he was asked a string of questions as to whether or not the type of damage could result from a multiple list of causes and he said they did not happen and were not the cause of the engine burning up but had the items they listed happen they could result in such similar damage, yet Colonial reported they would not repair or replace the pump because it was cause by a lighting strike which was totally false.
The refusal for fixing or repair the water heater because they dont cover the control valve and actuator even though it is a primary part of the water heater.
They will say and do anything they can to prevent doing anything for the money paid for their warranty.
