I followed the Colonial Home warranty process... I paid to have their repair person to come out and look at my dishwasher. He stated that the pump/motor was bad and stated he would submit that information to Colonial. I heard from them weeks later telling me that they would not cover the pump/motor because there was still a manufacturer's warranty on the dishwasher and because the property was vacant. I contacted them immediately to explain that the property was a vacation home and was not vacant and that the motor/pump was not still under warranty. They stated that the door and tub were still under a manufacturer's warranty and therefore would not fix it. I contacted Whirlpool and forwarded Colonial the documentation showing that if they worked on the motor/pump that it would not void the warranty on the door/drum. After contacting them 4 times and being told that someone would respond to me, they left me a voice message to call them. I did and they explained that because of the warranty on the door/drum they would not repair. I am taking them to small claims court due to this issue. The motor/pump, per the repair man is around $300. The cost to represent themselves at small claims court is going to be a lot more... I know, I am an attorney.
