Wells Fargo Acceptance
Withholding Title information, and preventing legal tagging of vehicle

Wells Fargo Acceptance is a total joke. I purchased a vehicle in Novenmber of 2005 from All-Star Cars and Trucks in Monroe, LA, and it was financed through WFA. All-Star failed to send the proper tag and title information to my state of residence (MS), and therefore when the tag ran out I was unable to pay the taxes and get a tag for my vehicle, because they had no information on the vehicle... And I had no registration, since it had not ever been registered.

I contacted Wells Fargo about the situation, and instructed them to send (fax was preferred method to all parties) the title information to the DMV for proper registration and tagging purposes. Mind you, this was in January... And I had moved to NC by this time, and had given them all of my North Carolina information, as well as the information to the local DMV.

Several different times I went through this procedure with WFA, each time waiting endlessly on hold to speak with the proper person, all along being harrassed by them that this was not their problem. All occurrences went unanswered and unresolved.

The last 2 times I contacted WFA about this situation, it was on 3-party conference calls with myself, WFA, and the NC DMV... And the spokesperson from the DMV reitterated the extreme importance of this situation, and provided them with the correct contact information again to correct this problem. Well for those keeping score... It is now July.

In late June, strapped for a driveable vehicle, and needing transportation of a legal variety, I was forced to buy another vehicle, since I was obviously not going to get this car from WFA legally tagged. I have sought legal advice about the steps I need to take, and what actions I can make, because the entire time I have had this vehicle in my physical possession, it has been paid for, and insured by me. I have not been able to legally drive this car since January 10.

I am going to send it packing back to them, since they will not honor their responsibility, and give me legal means to drive this vehicle. Any help about this would be great. I no longer need or want this vehicle, and have done nothing to deserve such a shafting... And I know they are going to attempt to ruin my credit if I allow it. I don't feel I should be obligated to this car anymore... 6 months time is plenty to resolve this kind of mix-up... Don't you agree?
