Ripoff provided false information to sell vehicle, failed to respond about complaints

I called Greenville Chrysler once I learned of an old postal jeep for sale. As a substitute rural carrier, I needed something inexpensive, but in road ready condition.

Living out of town, I planned to drive to see the vehicle before purchase. I contacted a salesman, CJ, that I had been speaking with. I questioned him yet again about the condition of the vehicle. He said that the keys were lost, but that he would test drive the vehicle himself. He confirmed later that he had driven it and that it was road ready. I told him that I would try to come to view it or have a relative do so since I wouldn't be off for a week.

Within a couple of days, I had an unforeseen family emergency. I called CJ to let him know that there wouldn't be anybody to see the vehicle. He told me that it was okay. I started asking specific questions regarding the condition of the jeep. (locks, lights, blinkers, etc.) He confirmed to me that everything was in working condition. I let him know that it had to pass inspection to be road ready and that I couldn't purchase something for that price if it wasn't ready to drive.

Many times I mentioned to him the importance of the lights, locks, etc. Driving had to be in guidance with the law. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have a use for the vehicle. Doing what I normally wouldn't do, I agreed to purchase the vehicle by phone. He assured me that everything worked and that he could have it delivered to me that same day.

After arriving home from work, the jeep arrived. It was in good working order&mechanically. The lights, locks, etc were a bit of a problem. They provided false information to me to make a sell. I could have purchased the same kind of vehicle for 1/2 the price and had it put in the shop and it still not cost me as much as I paid for this one.

I sent an e-mail and didn't get a response. After waiting a few days, I called them and was told that the General Manager was going to discuss the issue with a few other people. I haven't heard back from them since. That was over a week ago.
