I had made a $90.00 cash deposit on 7/18/05 @ 4:15 PM thinking it was going to be credited for that day. I went online the next morning to find that they had the cash deposit still "pending". However, I did see 7 charges that we're shown to be overdrawn. These charges would have been covered with the cash deposit I had made the previous day.
I contacted Bank of America and they said it didn't post that day because the deposit was made after the 4:00 PM cut off time. They said that I was stuck with the approximate $150.00 in bank fees. A few day later, I had deposited $136.00 on 7/25/05 @ 4:06 PM & that deposit cleared that same evening, even though it was after the 4pm cut off time.
I call them today because the deposit was made after 4pm and shouldn't have cleared that night. They said the bank extended a courtesy deposit credit for that deposit. I asked the bank to refund my bank fee for the cash deposit, he said no, because the deposit was made after 4pm. I advised the customer service representive that the bank can't pick and choose which cash deposits they want to credit right away & which one's they don't. This isn't fair.
I feel I was ripped off by Bank of America. Unfortunately this wasn't the fist time this bank did this. But this time I'm not letting them get away with it.
