Capitol one card services are crooked and very fraudulant. My issue began when i attempted to pay off my "platinum card" of $300. I had payed using their bank check option. Two payments of $150 each to pay the $300 off. I was planning on using my card for a vacation and wanted it clear of charges. I wanted to double check and make sure the payments actually went through. When i viewed my statement online there appeared to be a $63 charge for an annual card fee. After finding out this was the reason for the charges i spoke with a representative. I told them i would like to cancel my card as i have other cards that do not require an annual charge.

The first rep i spoke with offered to cut the charges in half and i would be charged $29 this time and in the future. I accepted as i benefit from the use of mastercard with certain companies. March 28th i viewed my statement online to see if she had made the changes as she said she would. It was the same. I called and spoke with "christa rep. Id tq18". She sincerely apologized for the mistake and offered to remove all the charges and my account balance would be at zero. These changes would show by the end of the day. March 28th is my due date for my bill. The reason i was on the phone with her was to get this resolved and avoid a $29 late charge. She assured me it would be done. I called back later that day to verify that this change was made with a different rep. As i spoke with "wanda rep. Id sk17" and she informed me that she did not see any notes from the previous rep stating the charges would be removed. Wanda promised me she would take care of everything and also spoke with my manager where i work to verify this. She agreed to remove all the charges and that i would not have a payment due until april 28th. Today is april 6th and after revieiwng my online statement i had found that instead of removing the $59 annual fee, they had actually applied another $59 annual fee, then removed one.

I called again and spoke with "dinya rep. Id auk3" who looked at my account with me and immediately told me the charges would be removed, in a hasty manner, as to get me off the phone. I felt this was the same treatment as i was slapped with the first time around. Within 5 minutes i had called back to verify she had indeed removed the charges. Oddly enough the lady that i spoke with this time informed me that there were no notes from today verifying those charges would be removed. This didnt suprise me. After explaining my story to her it sounded like she felt pity. I would to after doing this to people all day every day. I asked her to please close my account as i do not appreciate being lied to repeatedly. It appears there is a pattern here according to the consumer complaintss. And to think, all my intention was, to pay off my card. And they chose to lose a customer over a few dollars, or is it incompetincey? Anyway this is my story, they are liers, and in my life i chose not to deal with liers. Thank you for taking the time to read my complaint.
