In February, we had a pipe burst in our condo. Because my husband was under medical care at the Mayo Hospital, we were unable to follow up right away. However, we did pay the condo to do the cleanup. We had to have the place repaired ourselves.
No one from the insurance company met with us. We could not live in the house because of water and mold, so for 31 days we stayed in nearby hotels when possible. David Hernandez depreciated the repairs by 40%, which we did not receive back once the house was repaired.
Later we found there was water damage to the bathroom cabinet, and the kitchen floor tiles were damaged as well. Many calls were made, with no return calls. Later, on 10/9/06, he called to say there was no more money. We have had this policy since 1994 and never filed a claim.

The theft was $1800, and we received a check for $359. The items were a Game Boy belonging to my grandson and 8 to 10 games. There were also pictures of the damage to the house and damage to pictures on the wall. (A police report was made.) Peggy Auriene, Jennefer, Angla, and Heather are people I was told at different times were dealing with the additional living expenses.
The four of us were out of our home for 31 days. We worked every day to get our house back in order. We spent over $9000.00, and all we received back was $4449.00. My husband is a senior, and we live on a fixed income. We don't have money we can simply give to Allstate Insurance.
