DirecTV-unauthorized EFT from an account used for previous payment

I recently cancelled service with DirecTV. I was informed that I would be charged for the partial month I had used before cancelling. Was never given an amount nor did I ever recieve a bill. I was NOT signed up for automatic payments, instead of sending me a bill, DirecTV helped themselves to my bank account to remove payment when I did not authorize them to do so.
