Subject: Deceptive tactics used for unfair billing
In April of 2006 I called Directv to discontinue service. The rep told me he would keep me on the books. I did not realize at the time that they would start billing me again after 8 months, if he told me this I did not understand. I have since moved twice, and have not had directv service at either address. All of a sudden I was hit with a bill for $106.63 for service I had not been given. It seems my account was reactivated, had been billed for some time. They cut off my service for non-payment of the bills, but I did not have directv installed. I called customer service, and their solution was that I pay the bill or have my credit rating ruined. They have sent it to a collection agency. I demanded that my account be discontined, and it seems that is not in the company vocabulary. I will NEVER get involved with Directv again.
