My husband and I took Greyhound on our trip to Virginia from Binghamton, NY. Although it would take Greyhound 14 hours to complete what would be an 8-hour trip if we'd driven ourselves, we decided to take the bus. Half an hour after departure, the bus stopped for a 20 minute meal break. Half way to New York City, where we were to change buses, the driver parked the bus to adjust the mirrors. We arrived half an hour late in NYC, and found that our bus had left without us. We were told we'd have to wait 2 hours for the next bus. We then found out that we had to stand in LINE for 2 hours to wait for the bus - because the buses are first-come, first-served (even if your ticket has a time printed on it, you are not guaranteed a seat at that time).in line, one customer was very agitated and trying to cause trouble, and other passengers were happy to give him trouble. We were very nervous, seemed to be in danger, but there were no security guards. We all got on the bus, and the agitated passenger soon demonstrated that he was mentally ill and off his meds. He caused trouble, acting irrationally and aggressively, even slapping one cross-dressing man on the bus, and kissing another elderly man. It was a horrible, frightening experience! When he got off the bus, he got naked and streaked through the bus terminal, at which time he was arrested. We arrived at our destination after 16 nightmarish hours. Never again!
