Long Uncomfortable Ride - Tardy buses and staff

I purchased a round-trip ticket for my mother-in-law to visit us in Durham, North Carolina from San Diego, California. She left California on July 31. The way to Durham was already very uncomfortable for her, she reported the drivers were acting a bit short with some passengers, made some people stand up for hours because the bus was full, some of the chair recliners were broken, some smelled like urine, on one bus the a/c was broken and the driver never stopped to get it fixed while temperature was already in the near 100's outside. Not to mention that the driver never stopped at any truck stops for passengers to try and take a shower or at least to get a decent meal. Finally she got home, sweaty, angry but safe with lots to talk about the ride here. On August 13th; after two weeks go by, her trip back home to California turns into a nightmare: First of course we as well as her, understand that it is a long trip and her ticket does mention the changes, layovers, waiting periods between buses and so forth. Now, first sign that she was in for a loooong ride is when one of the buses in Denver Colorado is three hours late plus is too full so she is told to wait for another one. When that other one finally arrives it does not pass the safety inspection, so she had to wait another couple hours; this one comes and she is one her way. But then, it breaks down on the road; all the passengers are made to wait on the side of the road (so she said or perhaps somewhere in the shade seating down; lets given them the benefit of the doubt since I was not the passenger and she may be exaggerating) but she is swearing they waited about six hours for another bus to come get them. Finally she is on her way home. Overall she was delayed about 11 hours from original approximate arrival of Thursday August 16th at 8am to same at Thursday 7:30pm. That is a bit too much to let go, we paid exactly $390.99 for this ticket; which is no small amount. But we never expected her trip to be so horrible, she had never gone cross-country before and she was looking forward to the experience; but instead Greyhound Lines Inc, let her so down and disappointed that she said she will never again ride with this company again. That's too bad.
