Ramada Plaza Resorts, James O'Dell Ramada Plaza Resorts in conjunction with Car Angel misrepresent free "no strings attached vacation"

I will try to make a long story short and sweet:
Our family donated a used vehicle to an organization called "Car Angel". We were told that we would be receiving a free getaway vacation for two nights, three days to our choice of various destinations around the country through the Ramada Plaza Resorts. At no time were we told that this package included the need to tour a Time Share or that there was any affiliation with a company affiliated with selling time shares. We sent in a $50.00 deposit with a request to stay an additional night at a particular destination at our expense.

As we had not heard anything after sending in the check along with two different preferred dates for staying at the resort I followed up with a phone call to the Ramada Plaza Resort only to be told that I needed to call another company, the "always Travel with Us", a third party agency. I did call them and spoke with someone named Tomeka. She gave me the name of a resort in Pittsfield, MA and said that I would need to call them about booking an extra night and that they would not have my information because they only send the names of people in batches a week or two before the vacations.

It was only when I went on line to review the resort that I realized that this was a time share situation. I called the Ramada Plaza Resort to express my disappointment and dismay at the whole situation. At no point during the process of receiving e-mails and letters from Car Angel and Ramada Plaza Resort Platinum Giveaway Vacations was there mention of a time share connection. I, for one, have no interest in going on a vacation where there is an expectation that one will have to view a timeshare with the obvious intent to purchase one. I am greatly disappointed in this. A free vacation and a vacation at a Time Share resort are two different things. Furthermore, the "resort" was not even part of the Ramada chain. I spoke to someone who was extremely haughty, pretentious and outright rude: His name was JAMES O'DELL. He could not have cared less about my situation and was quick to say "what do you want me to do about YOUR situation". My feeling is that it, too, was HIS situation and all parties involved.

Shame, shame, shame on Car Angel, Ramada Plaza Resorts for misrepresenting this as a free "no strings attached" vacation as a thank you for donating a vehicle. If I do not get my $50.00 refund I will be quite upset and am glad that is all I have invested in this "resort" as I have read some of the other complaints online. I think that when there is an expectation that one view or even be asked to view a time share as a part of a package deal that this should be made clear right up front. For me this changes the whole flavor of the "vacation" and adds many long strings attached.
