Pottery Barn has the worst on-line ordering system and I know that there are lots of unhappy customers because of their lousy, outdated, worst computer on-line system mainly with their back-order ordering. On top of that have customer service agents who are either rude or know nothing.
I have several time ordered some of their sale merchandise and it said on-line that I would receive the item in a month. Well one month goes by and nothing. So i call them and they say "oh on my end (another screwed up sysem) it will ship in a week. I call back one week later and they say "sorry but there are no more. Well I already have an umbrella pole and the umbrella base but no canopy and i dont get it becasue they wont be making anymore. So I have to go thru the trouble to call and stay on hold for 20 minutes and finally talk to someone (whom I know more than they do) and tell them to come get the pole and base cause I cannot get the canopy i wanted so they say ok put it outside and UPS will come by and pick up well next day only one item gets picks up (imagine that) and then next day the other item gets picks up so another screw up on their end. Takes two hour for all this calling and ordering and 2 months later I have nothing. Then order some drapes on line and it says "ON Backorder will ship on Oct 20, and order some shades and it says "On-backorder will ship oct 20 and then receive an email (which only took one day this time) to tell me I wont be getting the drapes or the shades.
In the meantime I ordered some other items which are in the 99 cent clearance section to go with my shades and drapes and since they cancelled my order they better let me cancel my order. I will report back what happens.
So to MR CEO and and higher up in the company. DOnt what whats going on but your on-line orderign system sucks. There has been so many times when your system says one thing and then it is not true. Once I ordered something that was on back order and i about had a heart attack because it actually showed up.
But other reading I know there must be thousands of un-happy customers out there who order on-ine from Pottery Barn and end up not getting what you want in the first time.
When I did actually get what I ordeded from Pottery Barn it was a home delivery order. I was told that I would receive my items on Monday between 12-2:00 well 2:00 rolls around and nothing so I call (yea I had to call and not them) and the rep says oh they are right down the street from you and will be there in 30 minutes. Well I wait 30 minutes and no items. I call back and the man says we are running 30 minutes late (it is 3:00 o'clock now) and I tell them oh "it is already hour late. He says oh I call and check on them and he says any minute now. Well finally at 3:30 (which is one and one-half hours later they show) good thing I dont work. Most people have to take off work to be able to get your home delivery so if you do be prepared for them to show up late and they will not call you if they are running late. Even my yard man calls if he going to be late but Not POTTERY BARN.
I love to hear other stories from unhappy customers of Pottery Barn. Seems like everytime I go into stores there are new people working so that tells me have problems there too. Would not be surprised if Pottery Barn goes bankrupt from the sorry customer service.
Dont expect to get the items you order from POTTERY BARN. Also if you are getting a home delivery it be lae and they wont call. If you shop inside stores ou be seeing new faces everytime you go and if you call and order over phone be sure you know what you want and look it up yourself because most of those employees are making minimum wage and not much help. I suggest you look on line for you can find most of their items selling somewhere for cheaper.
