After going to my local Walmart to buy a treadmill it was my just my luck the one I wanted was SOLD OUT. Not to be out done I decided to order one online and have it shipped into the store. Shipping to the store is free and all I payed was the purchase price plus sales tax at this point all is well. Next the delivery date to the store was listed with a 3 week window they said they were out and it took this long to get one to the store. Still all's well I can deal with this. Here's where the problem comes in my wife went to Walmart to shop yesterday and noticed the treadmill I ordered that they said was out of stock was laying on a shelf to be sold.
I called the store and explained how I had ordered this very treadmill and told them I wanted the one laying on their shelf. They said I could NOT have the one in stock I had to wait for my order to come in. I asked why they couldn't just give me this one as I've already PAID for it. Their answer was this one is not yours. They said the only I could have was the one I ordered therefore I would have to wait another two weeks. They did say however that I could buy this one and pay them again. That way they could have my money TWICE and they said when this other one comes in I could make a trip back to the store and inform them I do not want this one and ask for a refund!
I would have bought the treadmill On my first trip to Walmart. I can't see paying them twice and letting them hold my money for a couple of weeks. Buyers Beware! If you buy online because what you want is out of stock. You CANNOT pickup the same item that suddenly becomes IN STOCK. That way they can sell the same item, keep your money and get the money from the NOW in stock item. This makes absolutely NO sense at all. If you buy online you very well may go to the store a couple days later and see your item on the shelf but you can't have it! I guess my treadmills being CUSTOM made just for me!!
