While on vacation in Tallahassee, FL I shopped at a Talbot's with 4 other family members. We were shopping for a wedding. The sales person was so nice and she helped me pick out several outfits, one of them being a red dress for the wedding. Everyone in my party had good luck that day. We had fun, and had a positive feeling about Talbot's. After returning home, I realized that I already had a dress that I could wear to the wedding, so I planned on returning the red dress. My husband and I returned the dress to the Palm Beach Gardens Mall Talbot's. It was still hanging in it's bag with it's tag and I had the receipt. The store was very crowded with customers. The salesperson looked at the dress and said very LOUDLY "this dress has been worn". I think the whole store got quiet and looked our way. I assured her that it had not been worn. She showed me where there was white deodorant marks under the arms. Well, it is a red sleeveless dress that I tried on several times in the store, and no telling how many other people tried it on. She called her manager over, and she said in a very LOUD angry voice "I can't sell this, it's been worn!" The dress cost $179. I could have worn it to the wedding, but decided to save money by wearing one I already had. I have NEVER been so embarrassed and humiliated in my life! Whatever happened to "the customer comes first".
