Hello my name is elvida and im reporting a furniture ripoff, it all begin in february when i first went to a furniture company called dreamway international located on 1523 n american street philadelphia, pa 19122, i put a cream sofa and 2 chair furniture set with plastic covering on all peices on layaway i paid everything except the $77.00 they told me not to pay until the furniture was delivered.
When all of a sudden stories of furniture neglect on the owners behalf started to circulate, then the next thing i know i was watching the news and the furniture store was on fire. I was in total shock to see this on television so i started to call the store owner and i started leaving messages, but no one ever returned any of my calls.
Until a previous cutomer told me about another store of his located in the frankford section so i took upon myself to go up there and follow up on my furniture just to get shady attitudes and all of a sudden a no refund sign big as day out front, so when i asked about my furniture order no one had anything to say except they didn't know anything about my order even when i showed my reciept of purchase, i was told to come back.
Upon my return 3 days later i was still told they knew nothing about my specific furniture order but i could replace my order with anything in the store on the floor. Mind you nothing suited my taste what they had in this store so continued to tell them to look deeper for my order.
I gave them time to come up with my order but in the meantime i still made phone calls trying to reach the owner because all of a sudden he made no appearances in this store after the fire on american street.
I have visited this new store 4 or five times and i have a mother living with me who just recently suffered 4 heart attacks and a daughter living with me who is suffering with a terminal cancer and i really don't need this extra stress running back and forth on the bus just to be told a series of lies.
I have tried to reach Mr. Abel Rodriguez several time on his cellular phone (267) 625-4616, and now he just does not turn it on at all or either he scans his calls just to let them go to the voice mail, im really fed up now this is just going to far and i'm in the need of further assistance, they won't give me back my money and they won't give me the furniture all they have given me is a headache and a run around for nothing. They were supposed to deliver my furniture this pass saturday 5-15-04, and i was just in the store the tuesday before 5-11-04, and they promised me they would reorder and Abel would go and pay to get my furniture and have it delivered to me. Please help me.
