I bought a vaccum cleaner from Home Depot. I had to return it because it was too heavy for the person I bought it for. I had all the paper work that came with the product as well as the original box that it came in. They were looking great, since it wasn't used much, just tried out. I lost the receipt, which I am still looking for.
When I took the product to the store, they refuse to give me a credit, saying that their policy on returns have changed and that they do not give credit to products with out a receipt.
See the link below to see their return policy. It states that "Returns without a receipt: A store credit or credit to a Home Depot Commercial Credit Account may be issued based on the lowest selling price of the returned merchandise". So, is this a rip off or what?
I contacted their customer support and I will let you know of the outcome when I find out. Meanwhile, this is just one of the many bad interactions that I have had with Home Depot. If anybody has any stock in this company, better reconsider it.
