I returned a few items around mid- July with credit card / store receipt. The cashier neglected to use the receipt for the return and sheepishly 'oops' said 'it doesnt really matter, can I just give you store credit." Not knowing about the policy I accepted. It turns out that if you use store credit to 'buy' and return items they will deny you the return. EVEN IF IT IS THEIR ERROR.
So I am NOT GOING TO A HOME DEPOT as much as I have been a long time repeat customer, and it is more conveniently located. I am now a Lowe's and OSH customer.
I did complain about this to 'corporate customer service and resolution'. They seem to be nice enough but totally powerless people. Management is customer-service-challenged.
