I tried to return items to Home Depot Highway 6 North store without a receipt (I had lost it accidentally). I was told, "no receipt, no return" despite the fact that all the items had SKU tags on them. The cashier had scanned the items in and they were home depot merchandise. The manager "Louis" stated (what a male chauvinist), "those are universal tags" essentially accusing me of trying to commit fraud. They refused to take the merchandise back.
Later that evening, my husband went back to Home Depot in an attempt to return the merchandise. Guess what? They took back all the merchandise without benefit of receipt, no problems and no questions. Apparently, the administration of the Home Depot return policy without receipt is dependent upon the gender of the person returning the merchandise. How many women have tried to return merchandise to Home Depot and were denied?
