8/31/03 after searching priceline, cheap tickets, others, Hotwire was found, I wanted flight hotel for 9/20/03 so I log in to their website with my email credit card info where I want to depart, arrival city.
A paper confirmation (e ticket) is printed out without my signature, only when I had clicked purchase did a ticket number appear with an itinerary, with their rules about no refund, change, cancellation, exchange or transfer allowed, trip protection is only good in cas eof emergency, like if flight were cancelled, or a natural disaster occurs.
Well by 9/17/03 my plans changed, so I requested a credit back to my credit card, they emailed me they apologized I couldnt use the purchase, but their rules apply, my position is that if at anytime a customer is not satisfied for any reason with a purchase, at the retail location simply return the merchandise, request credit, or refund, their supervisor emailed me that I entered into a contract when I clicked purchase without a signature guarantee that is questionable because someone could have accesss to your information and enter your credit card information and since there are privacy concerns what guarantee do I have that Hotwire wont sell my information to other users without my signature, Any way their supervisor told me that they will continue to hold me to the contract that I agreed to an email is not an agreement from them, nor is it going to hold up if I pursue remedy from other avenues to resolve it.
I have asked my bank to credit my account according to the dispute herein I could accept the terms the company provides if I had entered into a contract, again an email confirmation isnt validation without a signature, however since I was cancelling the travel I could see an fee for that maybe $25.00 off total price of flight hotel but not Hot wire keeping all money paid by credit card.
