I have been a customer of American Home Shield for over 7 years and have had substandard service on most service calls. Specifically my A/C unit has been worked on on the average of 1-3 times over the last 5 years and they will not replace this unit. It is a 15 year old unit that needs to be replaced, period and several of the techniciand that have been out to service this unit have admittedly advised me that they rarely replace anything, but instead keep repairing such items. They have done countless repairs, replacing duct work, compressors, twice and other repairs. Please ref contract# 47667135. Over the last two years it has gotten worse because of th einefficiency of the unit. It has broken down several times and in Florida the temperature inside the home mid summer can be in the 90s which has presented health and breathing issues to myself and spouse.in addition when th eunit is at full capacity it will only cool between 82-85 degress and the heating system is not working properly as well which is part of this package unit. My monthly electrical bill is in excess of 250.00 a month at times and I can provide that history if needed or requested. As a result of American Home Shield failing to meet the customers needs, in replacing a unit that obviously needs to be replaced, as it is over 15 years old, I am taking it upon myself to buy my own unit which will cost me in excess of $6000.00. I believe that under the provisions of the American Home Shield contract they should be repsonsible for paying for this replacement. I would be glad to participate and testify in any class action suit.
