I hired BigBoyz Moving for a local move. Nothing complicated. The crew was late. It seems that the office books them back to back and down to the wire. When I tried to call the office to find out where my crew was, I got voice mail that indicated that there was no-one in the office. You would think that they would have their office staffed on a Saturday; one of the busiest moving days of the week! They crew did a good job. Started to slow down half way through. Standard. I kept an eye on them, and as we got closer to my quoted 4 hours, I told them we needed to pick it up and finish because I was only budgeted for the 4 hours. Oh, btw, BigBoyz says they don't give binding estimates, because that is just a way other companies quarantee a higher price. Huh? Ok, so I hired them anyway. My fault.
Once I unpacked, I discovered that the bolts to my son's bunk bed were missing. I called again, and got voice mail. No one called me back on Monday, so I called them. Four days later they called to tell me they had the bolts and would return them to me. I asked if they would be willing to reassemble the bed, given the circumstances. They said sure, but oh yea... They heard that I called time on the move. I am guessing that they brought that up because they were pointing out it wasn't their fault the bolts were missing - I rushed them? Yea, dude, to keep you on target of your quote.
Then comes the doozie! They tell me they saw that I posted a not entirely complimentary review on a website. They'll give me the 'no charge' reassembly (which btw, they couldn't do on Saturday because they were slowing down to push it past 4 hours!) If I agreed to remove the negative comments. WHAT? I told them that in the light of customer service, they should do it anyway, seeing as my son has been sleeping on the floor for 5 nights! I told them that was blackmail, and that I would be publishing it as many places as I could so people know how they do business.
