I replaced 8 windows using Ply Gem windows from Great Lakes. Within a couple years I noticed mold growing between the panes of glass in one of the windows. Since then two more windows have experienced the same problem.
Great Lakes has honored their warranty by sending out panes of glass only. They do not send a complete sash that can be installed immediately. I have to pay someone to install the pane of glass in the vinyl frame. This of course can only be done when the weather is guaranteed to be nice because there will be a hole in my house while the faulty sash is removed so it can be repaired.
3 of 8 windows have gone bad in less than 6 years. That's almost a 40% failure rate. I post this hoping to save as many window buyers the same issues I'm going through with these poor quality windows.
