And StorageRegency Moving failed to finish jo

I used Regency from a referral by a friend. As with any moving company its about the crew you get so I'm not mad at the friend. Unfortunately I got a bad crew.

My problem is the lack of interest in resolving the problem by management.in fact the manager once said that he had too much business and would just walk away from the job. If it wasn't at the last minute for me I would have let him do it.

This was an out-of-state $10,000 move so I don't know how much business a moving company could have that would make them want to walk way like that rather than trying to resolve the dispute. If they had so much business they shouldn't have agreed to take the move in the first place.

Problem #1 was that the woman who came out to do the initial review said they could take down my gym and pool table and put it up on the other end no problem. The movers told me they could do neither when they got there and looked at it. They had to have an outside guy come to take down the pool table at extra cost to me and had one of their own "specialists" take down the gym in poor fashion. I had to put both up on the other end.

After this I was pretty ticked off so I wasn't too happy when I saw the crew playing pool on my pool table before it was taken down. We were on a very tight schedule as it was.

So I called the manager to complain and he said:
1) The woman never said they could take down the gym and put it up on the other end as they don't do that. OK, but she did say it and I was looking specifically for someone to do it. If I couldn't find a moving company to do it I would have looked for an outside specialist. I think this was a case of her saying whatever she needed to get the business and not being able to deliver.

2) I was being unreasonable about the guys playing pool because it was a hot day. Look if they were getting the job and doing everything they were supposed to do and were on time I wouldn't have minded them goofing off a bit but that was not the case.

Then the next problem came up when they slid the parts of the gym down the stairs hitting the floor at the bottom and damaging the wood paneling which I had to get repaired before I sold the house.

Bottom line is I had a bad crew. My friend must have had a good one. I think this is a chance you take with any moving company. But to me a good moving company has a manager that is interested in resolving the problem and this one did not. Oh yeah, he said this was his best crew. I find that hard to believe.
