After putting a service order in on 9/8/08, I received a call and set an appointment to meet with the technician that was sent out to fix my refridgerator. The door will not stay closed, causing the food to be in danger of not staying at a constant tempature or even spoiling. When he examined it, he determined the most likely cause was the gasket on the door. After a few weeks, they came back out and did the repair. Only to find out immediately that this would not fix the problem. He assumed the next step would be to replace the inside of the door, but unknowingly to the tech, that particular part is not replaceable. But the entire door is.
An AHS rep informed him that the door could be replaced and that was what he was told needed to be ordered. But they call and tell me that the tech called back and said no, just order the "shell" for the inside of the door. Well, guess what, they have kicked my claim stating that the whole door would have been covered which includes the "shell", but just ordering the "shell" that would probably be cheaper they won't cover.
It makes absolutely no sense, and on top of it. I have a AHS rep telling me that He told the tech what to order and was ordering it for me only to come back and say oh no sorry we kicked the claim.
So now, I'm out $400 for the contract year, $55 for the service call, and to have the thing fixed I will have to either buy the door or replace the refridgerator. So in turn, I got screwed.
In the past, we have had decent luck with this company, but the past few times, if you don't cross your "T's" and dot your "I's" in the correct place, then you aren't given what you deserve or it's given at a ridiculously low price compared to the replacement of the equipment being serviced. You are never able to replace what you have with a comprable model and not have to pay a great deal more yourself.
This company becomes more of a joke each time I use them!
