Fever River's Scooter "tours" are not worth the money! Unfortunately, my friends and I had to find this out the hard way. We paid for the $65 "Scooter to Galena Cellars Vineyard Tour " and received none of what we thought we would get.
If you want to rent a scooter in Galena through Fever River, you are better off paying $45 for 2 hours instead of $65 for one of the so-called tours.
The 2 web pages that we booked our tour from are below. They advertise a "Fever River Small Group" ride - we didn't get this, they sent us out on our own. We did not receive any tour, even though the package is labeled as a "tour". They do not specify the time or distance of the trip (which turned out to be only 45 minutes). They promise a winery gift card, which we paid for and didn't get. We did not even get a tour when we got to the winery.in fact, we even asked for a glass of wine at the winery and were refused! And the one ad clearly states that it should be part of the package (that you can use your "gift card" toward a glass of wine)!!
All we got was the 45-minute scooter trip to the winery by ourselves and a wine-tasting once we got there. The value of the wine tasting is ONLY THREE DOLLARS. I suggest if you want to do this, just rent a scooter for 2 hours and go by yourself. You'll save yourself $20 and you will also have the scooter for an hour and 15 minutes longer.
Essentially, since we had the scooters for 45 minutes, we had $17 worth of scooter time, plus the $3 wine tasting. So, doing the math, we paid $45 each for a 6-mile shuttle ride back! Additionally, these scooters that we paid $65 for, and had for 45 minutes, were free to be rented out by Fever River within an hour to other customers. We really received nothing for our $65 that we could not have gotten on our own for FAR less money.
Also, when we tried to speak to the owner Deb about our disappointment in what we received (during our "shuttle ride" back, which was really just a pickup truck), all she said was she was sorry we felt that way. This was after waiting for an hour and a half to be picked up, and missing our dinner reservations, because she can only fit 3 people in her truck at a time. Deb seemed like she couldn't care less and didn't offer to rectify the situation in any way.in fact, the other Fever River employee in the car even went so far as to say that it was our fault we overpaid, because as consumers we should have done our research before we paid! If you really want to do business with Fever River, don't expect anything in the way of customer service either.
While I can't speak for any of the other tours they offer, if they are anything like this winery tour, I highly suggest you specify with Fever River and any affiliated tour destinations the value of EXACTLY what you are getting with the package, and compare that to renting the scooter for 2 hours for $45.
