I recently had to cancel my Directv account. I recently sold my house and moved into a rental house. I transfered my Directv to this rental in November. I had been a loyal customer since 2005. Once we moved into the rental I found out that the landlord's house was going to foreclosure and we had to move out in May. Our new rental apartment does not allow Directv... So I had to go with Comcast. I was charged a 269.92 early termination fee. I was never told that I had any sort of commitment to Directv. To top it all off they took the monies out of my checking account without even sending me a bill. I had my debit card on file so I could use it to pay my bills on line and by phone. I did not give then permission to automatically deduct this from my checking account. This deduction also caused me to overdraft... Causing a o/d fee of $ 35.00. I should have been allowed to get a paper bill. They say this is a policy. My mother and I are senior citizens, widows, and live on a fixed income. This is preposterous. Where do they get off deducting this fee when they could not do it for monthly fees without my permission. I need help. Directv is big rip off.
