I contacted this kennel in April. I sent a deposit for the reservation of 2 King Charles Spaniels, 1 male and 1 female. I dove from Dallas about 3 and half hours to hockley to pick up both of my puppies and when I got there I was told that the male got stepped on by one of their horses and was killed. I was understanding because David assured me that within a few days I would have a replacement puppy and he would have it delievered to me. I went ahead and paid the balance of $3000 for the two puppies assuming that I would get the puppy within in a few days without worries. I made phone call after phone call and each time I was told they would be here on Friday. I would wait for the phone call that never would come and would again call and was again told that Dave is out of town, or Dave has been ill and the puppy would be brought to me on Friday. Then I was told they had puppis to choose from and they would be here on Friday.
I met Dawn and saw 3 adult males of the wrong color and that looked nothing like the dogs I was wanting. Finally I was told the puppy was in from Ireland and I agreed to meet Dawn again but this time I did not get to pick my puppy from more than one as was promised over and over again by Dave. Within days my puppy was ill with kennel cough which turned into pneumonia that spread to the rest of my dogs. I spent thousands in continuous vet care for both of these puppies and it took several months before they were back to normal. The male still has scarring on his trachea that causes him to cough periodically. I was also told that I would have my registration papers transferred from IKC to AKC and it could take up to 6 months. I picked up the second puppy on June 3 and by Decemeber still no papers or word from Brusy Creek. Fortunately, I received the AKC papers for the female with no problem.
As of today, May 19, there are still no registration papers for my male dog, and Dave does not return phone calls or emails. I purhcased these dogs for breeding purposes and cannot even register a litter if I have one. Furthermore, I was assured that these dogs were show quality and the female does not a have a long flowing coat, is only 12 lbs and has very large bulgy eyes that are not characteristic of this breed. The male is over 25lbs which is also non-characteristic of this breed. I paid a total of $3500 for these 2 dogs over 1 year ago and still I cannot breed to show either of them. I have been ripped off and have no recourse on how to get my money back for either dog. I have called and asked for partial refund, but again, no response to email or phone calls. Do Not buy from this Kennel. You will be very very very sorry.
