Product caused unrepairable damage to cooktops

I purchased the product called the SimmerMat from a mail in catalog. After reading the directions to insure proper use; I used the product for the first time by cooking some rice on simmer on my ceramic glass cooktop stove.

After that first use; the product burnt a whole in my cooktop; even though all the descriptions of the SimmerMat states that it is safe on all cook surfaces.

I contacted IMCG the distributor and the inventor of the SimmerMat Tom Tothill, he said I used the product incorrectly and he would not replace or repair my cooktop.

The instructions state to use the product cone side down, which I did and you can see I did because a cone shape whole is melted into the cooktop.
