I worked At the EZServe store #4192 in Altha, FL for almost 4 years as an Assistant Manager.in May my sister wrote an email to company headquarters about some of the illegal activities going on in my store (employees working for cash, not getting paid sick time, working "out of class", missing time sheets, working off the clock and a manager that hardly ever worked more than 30 hours a week yet continued to take home her 54 hour weekly salary and the area supervisor knew about all of this but did nothing).
Apparently company headquarters decided the best course of action was to send the email directly to the area supervisor that knew all about this but did nothing, Chuck Nichols.in the past he had falsely accused other clerks and managers of stealing etc. And fired them. (I have names and phone numbers).
When he decided he didn't like you or you didn't do something he wanted you to do his MO was to set you up and get rid of you. Well, he of course was VERY upset about the email and figured out it came from my sister. He asked all the store employees to sign a statement saying the he and the manager were doing nothing illegal. I was off work that day but was told the next day to sign one, I refused. I emailed Mr. Nichols boss Keith Mcoy that evening from work to tell him what was going on and that I had never been asked to sign anything like this before but he never responded, even to this day. (I have a copy of the email as I CCed it to my home email). The next day when I came to work I was fired by Chuck Nichols.
He accused me of stealing (but refused to show me the video tape) he said I had come in the store after hours (I never have and he refused to show me the police report of the alarm going off) I have a signed statement from the Altha police Chief stating that he tested the alarm through the sheriff's office and it was not even working. The other Assistant manager and a clerk signed it also as they were there during the test.
I asked Mr. Nichols to write down his reasons for firing me but he refused. He later sent me a statement in the mail which had different reasons.
Chuck Nichols went on to "victimize" another manager after I was gone (She is my current boss) and she raised so much hell with the main office that they FINALLY did something about it. You would think the man would at last be terminated so he could not harrass and intimidate more employees but instead he was demoted to manager and given his own store. Chuck Nichols still works for the company but has since been moved to a store outside Atlanta last time I heard. Unbelievable!
