I received an email from Linens N Things that included a 20% discount on my total purchase, valid for in-store purchases and good for the Labor Day weekend.
When I got to the checkout, I laid my coupon on the counter and the cashier rang up all my purchases and ignored the coupon. I reminded her I had a coupon and she told me their manager won't accept Internet coupons. I told her it came in my e-mail from Linens N Things and another cashier spoke up and said "we probably don't accept them because people might bring in fake ones." That was insulting to me!
The coupon listed items excluded from the discount (none of which I was trying to purchase). It did not state that some stores might not accept them. The Silverdale store doesn't have any signage stating that they don't accept their own coupons. I think it's a sneaky way to get you into the store and hope you'll just go ahead and make the purchase anyway.
