Members Edge, ILD Teleservices
Rip off Fraud

Today I received my Bellsouth phone bill, after checking it I discovered a 16.62 charge for Member's Edge LLC, with another statement that read Total IDL teleservices, Inc current charges.
I called the number for billing questions and after holding for an extensive amount of time was able to talk with a representative. THe charge was for a Voice Mail set up fee...

I explained to this young lady that I did not order this, she then quoted me my full name (even though the phone account is in my husbands) my physical address, my email address and then said Chamberlain was my password. She said this would either be your mothers maiden name or a town I had previously lived in. I told her it was neither and that I did not subscribe to this service. I do not have a VOice Mail set up. Very rudely she advised she would cancel immediately.

I asked if they would be removing these charges and she advised they would not. I told her that was unacceptable to me.

She said if I had a problem I could speak to her manager, I advised her that is exactly what I would do and I was transferred into a voicemail system.
I did leave a message and contacted Bellsouth immediately. THey are able to note this charge is in dispute for 60 days, after the 60 days if not resolved, they will transfer it off my phone bill and force the company to bill me directly. I was also able to put a block on my account through Bellsouth that prohibits 3rd parties from adding charges onto my account.
Tomorrow I will be contacting the FCC for guidance as well.

Just as a note, the password she claims that I used when enrolling in their services was familiar to me, not as a password but as my former high school. I have used that information when I logged into Classmates and Reunion.com. It has never been my password. I found it to be an odd conncection between the two and wondered if that is where they had gotten my information. Would be interested if anyone else that visits those two sites had their high school name used as a password with this company. Same with the email address she gave me, it is one I use for personel stuff not household business.
