I received my Verizon bill on March 8, with a charge from ILD Teleservices, Inc. For $16.21, voice messaging service. When I called the phone number for ILD Teleservices, I was told that my son had signed up. They had his date of birth and my maiden name. I spoke to my son. He said that he never signed up for anything.
I said we don't need a voice messaging service because we have a answering machine. They told me that I could not get the refund for the set up fee and would try to get get it off the next Verizon bill. I don't understand whey we were charged because my son never signed up for anything on the internet. Then they told me that they would block my son's e-mail address from being able to sign up with their company again. ILD Teleservices doesn't have to worry about that because I have changed my son's e-mail address and password. I called Verizon and was told to pay the charge. I don't understand why Verizon is putting these charges on my bill. I have e-mailed the New York State Attorney General but have not heard from them yet.
