Ripoff—charging for roam minutes while in local calling area

We resently moved within our local calling area but close enough to the local/roam line to throw us into roam frequently. After not receiving a bill for two months I called to inquire as to what was going on. A copy of the two bills are promised and on the way.

In the mean time I locked myself out of the web page and because the bill is in my husband's name I was not allowed to request Cingular to unlock it. I called and talked with Teresa and was told that she could unlock the web account because I am on the account. She was also nice enough and told me that if I had any problems or discreptancies to call back.

This is when I found several roam charges for the two month period. I called Cingular back and talked with Veronica. I was told that I DID make the calls and that I WAS out of my local calling area even though she could see that I lived close to the local/roam line. She was also kind enough to tell me that my 15 month old phone is old and it will throw you into roam calling.

She then suggested that I not use my phone when it says, "Cingular Extended". When I asked to talk with her manager she refused to let me talk with one.
