Ripoff Customer Service $9.00-$14.00/hour Insurance will train

On Monday Nov. 08 2004 I had responded to an ad that was in the News Tribune on Nov 5 classifyed ads. The ad read exactly Customer Service $9.00-$14.00 dollars per hour.insurance will train 1-800-410-2268.

When I called the number I got a representative named Ben. I told him that I was responding to the ad in the paper about the insurance job that was advertised. He first asked me my name and adress and then told me that the job was a recovery service for HUD. I said that I thought that it was for insurance because that's what the ad had stated.

He then told me that it was, but it was processing claims or returns due to rebates that had not been collected. I then asked him if he was a lagitimate company and what was the possibility of getting the job. He then stated that for $98.00 he could get me started in just 10-14 days making up to $300.00-$700.00 a week working for the Government. And that the $98.00 from me was to guarantee that I would stick with the program. All that they expected from me is that I would give at least 10 hours a week. I then asked him if I needed to fill out an application and how long the job would be for?

I then stated I had a job already and that I had hoped to make exstra money and possibly do it full time if there was that much money to be made. He then told me that their was no application and the job would be their as long as I wanted it. He further stated that I would be working from my own pc and I would have on-line trainning to get me started. There was also on-line support and an instructor that would make sure that I would get all of my questions and trainning threw my trainner that would be assigned when I received my packet of forms and material to get started. He then asked me if I it sounded like something that I would like to do. And I said yes but that I did'nt have the $98.00 until that Friday. He then said that he would have to check and see if the position was still open in Tacoma.

So he left for a few minutes and came back and told me that he had two positions open and if I wanted one that I needed to act now. I repeated that I would not have the money until Friday and that I could not do anything about it. He then stated that they would post date the check for Nov 12 and that it would not be taken out until Mon 15 because the deposit would'nt be done until late on Friday. I said are you sure because I don't have the funds right now. He said sure ok.

So I gave him my account number and a check number 2032. He told me to make sure that I voided out that check because since that it was done electronicly that I could'nt use that check because it was already used. I said ok and we hung-up.

I then called my husband and told him what I did. He said that I needed to look them up with the BBB of other web sites that would report if they we're real. So I looked them up and found a report on Rip-Off, I looked on the BBB but your report was complete. So I tried to call them back on the number that was in the ad. I got a busy signal that lasted almost one day.

Then on Nov. 11 I got someone to answer the phone. I told him that I had changed my mind on the order and that I wanted to cancell my order. He then gave me a number that was busy for hours and I never got threw to anyone. 800-746-7440 When I could'nt get anyone I called the other number back and got Ben the guy that placed my order to begin with. I told him that I wanted to cancell my order. He had asked me why? I told him that I was not comfortable with a company that I could not get a hold of when I called the numbers that were provided to call. And that I was concerned. I also told him that I had changed my mind and felt that it would be in my best interest not to place the order.

He then told me that I could not cancel my order because I was already in the system and that I had made a verbal contract that could not be broken. If I wanted my money back that I would have to call the customer service number and go threw them (1-800-753-4510) I then stated that I had been tring to call them for almost a day and the line was always busy. He then said is the mail-box full then? I said how am I suppose to know? You told me that I was a ligimate company. He now is flippant and states that It's not his fault that I can't get them on the phone. I then state that it was a good thing that I cancelled the check then huh?

He now turns abusive and calls me a few names. You did what??? You had no right to cancel the check. Who do you think you are? Now I'm F* Pist. What kind of person cancelles a check that they have already promises to pay. I then state that facts of what I had problems with calling them, tring to reach them, not being a reliable company and that I felt that cancelling the check was the only action that I could take because I could not get them on the phone to cancel the order and that I felt that they would not honor what was promised on the phone. He is now very abusive and hangs up.

I then tried the 1-800-753-4510 again and got a recording that stated that they would take my name and number and call me back on the next business day to leave a detailed message and it would be returned the next bussiness day. It has been four days and I have'nt heard from know one on this matter.

So I went to my bank and cancelled the check. Then on Nov. 15 There was a check that was posted to my account for the $98.00 With the check no. 9999 This has resulted in four overdrafts on my account and charges of $120.00 in overdrafts. So I feel that they scammed me and took money that they knew was not their's.
