Ok So I have terrible credit and I was taken advantage of so bad by this so called company that was going to give me a loan for 3000.00.
I submitted applications for on-line personal loans, and after being denied several times, one day I checked my voice mail one afternoon and I heard this message that I had been aproved for a loan amount of 3000.00. So of course I called the person back and to my suprise it was a guy that didn't speak english very well (like he was from another country) So struggling through the conversation in terms of trying to understand him, he told me that in order to recieve the funds into my account I had to go to the local store and pick up a green dot money pak card in the amount of 115.00 as a proccessing fee. I did what he asked and got the money pak for that amount, gave him the number and then he stated that I needed to wait 30- 45 minutes before the money would go into my account. So Im like ok I'll wait an hour just to make sure everything processed ok and then call back to verfiy the funds. So I called back and He told me that his boss stated to him that I needed to pay 210.00 because my credit was so bad in order to recieve the funds. Being so desperate to recieve the funds of course I did what he said without thinking. Then when I returned the call and gave him the money pak number, he told me that it would be about 30-45 minutes again before i recieved my funds in the account, So i m like ok. I waited another hour just to make sure that everything had processed and called him back to check the status. He told me that his boss was not pleased with my credit and needed me to make an upfront monthly payment in the amount of 215 in order to show my good faith that I could make the arranged payments. (my payments were going to be 215.00 for 18 months) So of course now I'm thinking this could be a scam, but again being that desperate i went again and got another money pak card for the 215.00. Once i called him again when the funds didnot arrive into the account, he told me that they were having difficulty with depositing the money b/c the account was froze and if i wanted my money that day i would need to go to the nearest western union and pick up the funds from there, and told me that all i had to pay was the western union fee process which was 175.00. I stated to him that i do not have the funds to do that, and he kept saying trust me the money you pay for this fee will be given back to you along with the 3000.00. I told him that i was not in a paticular rush to get the funds right away, and he stated ok and that the funds would arrive in my account in 7-10 business days. So 7 business days went by and i recieved a call from him, i was not able to answer the call at that time, so when i called back it was like starting the process all over again, i had to give him my name and he went through the process of saying that i had to pay this this and this. I told him that i had already paid all the fees needed and he said ok hold on. When he came back to the phone he said the process is 99% complete we just need you to pay 75.00, and the funds will be in your account within 30 minutes to an hour. So finally it clicked that this is was a scam, and I immediately told him to give me my refund from the money pak cards that i gave him. He just kept insisting that it was not a scam and i needed to trust him and i needed to coperate with him in order to recieve the funds, I kept telling him no you guys are scamming me and i want all my money back that i gave you. He hung up and i called back, and told him that if he didnt give me a refund i was going to report the company. He says go ahead we have all our attorneys in order. So now I'm out of almost 600.00 and i didnt get the loan amount promised to me. What can i do to get my refund and report that company for fraud??
