Kenmore range controls are defective. Called Sears Home Services. First visit went well and detected faulty switches. Parts ordered and follow on scheduled.
Parts did not arrive on time. I called to reschedule, & was given two choices 1/5 from 10am to noon, or 1/6 from 8 to 10 am. I chose 1/6.
No one came by 10, so I called & was told that appointment was scheduled between 8am and noon. Tech didn't arrive until 12:45.
This was a different tech than was out before, and he did not understand the problem. He misunderstood what parts had been ordered, and had to change his explanation of the problem three times before getting the final answer. This took 45 minutes. Then he spent 15 minutes installing the parts, except that one of the switches came with the wrong mounting and could not be installed. He had to place another parts order for the mounting, so burner is still out of service until I get parts and schedule another appointment.
Meanwhile, I purchased a service agreement, which I suppose was a good thing, because I've been using burners I don't normally use and these aren't working right, either. Evidently, though, I can't have anyone work on these under the service agreement until the first order is finished.
I am very dissatisfied with Sears, Kenmore, and Sears Home Service.
